RoundUp Weed Killer

California Confirms That The Weed Killer Roundup Causes Cancer. Legal Options May Be Available.

While most people know that herbicides can be dangerous to humans and pets, particularly when ingested, California health officials have confirmed the long held assertion that a key ingredient of some of the most popular herbicides can even cause cancer.

The California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment has determined that this ingredient, glyphosate — the main component in weed killers such as Roundup — is now added to the State of California list of carcinogenic chemicals compiled in accordance with Proposition 65.

The Link Between Roundup And Cancer

Even though herbicide manufacturers say their glyphosate-containing products are safe, more than 800 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma patients have already filed suit, alleging that Roundup gave them cancer.

The recent decision by California to list glyphosate as a carcinogen certainly comes as welcomed news to these cancer victims, although herbicide manufacturers vow to appeal this carcinogenic designation.
