Our Legal Team
Alan
Brayton, our founding partner, is recognized as one of the West’s leading attorneys in
personal injury, products liability and mass tort cases. He has represented victims of asbestos–related
disease throughout the nation, and is a renowned expert in asbestos law. He also has extensive
experience in defective medical device litigation and cases involving toxic substances. Mr. Brayton
is an executive member of the Board of Directors of the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice Foundation
which operates a national public interest law firm protecting people, the environment and access
to the courts.
Gilbert
Purcell, senior partner and lead trial counsel, has successfully tried numerous asbestos, personal
injury, and railroad–related cases, winning many multimillion dollar verdicts. He is a Board
Certified Civil Trial Attorney (see the National
Board of Trial Advocacy web site for details). His excellent trial record speaks
for itself.
David
Donadio is a junior partner who is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of associate
attorneys and paralegals in our California offices. His responsibilities include case management,
law and motion, and all phases of discovery. He has been with the firm since 1991.
Lloyd
F. (“Butch”) LeRoy is a junior partner who supervises the firm’s Appellate
Department. He chooses issues for appeal, writes and edits briefs, and appears before the appellate
courts on behalf of our clients. Mr. LeRoy is an Appellate Specialist certified by the Board of
Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California.
