Laurel Halbany

Laurel Halbany began working for Brayton Purcell in August of 2004 as an associate in the areas of asbestos and toxic tort litigation. Ms. Halbany earned her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1989 and then attended Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. During law school, she worked as a law clerk at the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW).
Licensed to practice law in California, Ms. Halbany is a member of the American Bar Association, American Trial Lawyers Association, Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, Consumer Attorneys of California, and Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom.
In 2004, 2005 and 2006, Ms. Halbany received an Outstanding Volunteer in Public Service award from the Volunteer Legal Services Program in San Francisco for her relentless pro bono eviction defense work. In her down time, Ms. Halbany also enjoys rebuilding computers, and spending time with her husband and three children.
