Partner Post: 2013 Toddler Product Recall

Joe Fresh Toddler Shoes Recalled in Fall 2013

Written by James P. Nevin james.jpg

Loblaw Companies Limited (Loblaw) has proactively and voluntarily recalled their Joe Fresh toddler shoes in two styles. The boots have been recalled because there is a possibility of a staple protruding into the inside sole of the boot. The products that may be impacted were sold between September 2013 and October 2013 in Loblaw banner stores in Canada.

boot2.jpgThe company has issued an apology for any concern their recall may cause. Stating that the "health and safety of our customers is paramount to us and we are committed to providing our customers with a clean and safe store environment and offering products that are produced, sourced and handled responsibly." They also assure a full refund, with or without the receipt, at any of their banner stores nationwide.

Generally the maker notifies the authorities of thier intention to issue a recall. Consumer hotlines and communication channels are established. Public recall announcements are made as well as paid notifications in newpapers and television ads. Finally the consumer is advised to return the goods and avenues for compensation are set up depending on the situation.
