  • Work History Investigator
    • Reporting to Hugh Cook

      Job Duties

      • Interviewing new clients and their co-workers.
      • Reviewing depositions and employment documents.
      • Preparing a detailed employment history and asbestos exposure history based on information obtained.

      Requirements

      • Bachelor's degree required. Journalism or related field preferred.
      • Requires advanced writing skills, preferably with an investigative background dealing with asbestos litigation.
      • Ability to perform in-depth interviews over the phone and in person.
      • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are essential in this position.
      • Computer proficiency required and WordPerfect experience desired.
      • Interest in geography, history, and writing.
      • Journalism background, knowledge of construction trades and asbestos products a plus.
      • Experience in a plaintiff's asbestos law firm is desired.
      • Ability to travel, and must have a valid driver's license.
  • Administrative Assistant
    • Job Duties

      • Review case information to place record order requests.
      • Place medical, billing and employment record orders.
      • Follow up with facilities via phone, fax and/or email for employment, medical/billing records, pathology and film requests.
      • Update notes of follow-ups in evidentiary Docs.
      • Prepare various form letters, subpoenas and check and copy service requests.
      • Mail record release authorizations to clients.
      • Performs a variety of clerical tasks including basic word processing, copying, faxing, and data entry.

      Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
      • Minimum 6 months related experience, legal office or legal-related work in a professional environment preferred.
      • Excellent communication skills.
      • Accurate typing speed of 40 WPM, WordPerfect, Nuance, Excel, Word and database experience preferred.
      • Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize workload to consistently meet deadlines.
      • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with BP staff and attorneys and with staff from outside facilities while maintaining confidentiality of firm matters.
      • Attention to detail and ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
      • Ability to problem solve with initiative to take the next steps.
  • Marketing Coordinator
    • Reporting to Ryan Poole

      Job Duties

      • Plans, researches and writes stories for online dissemination.
      • Prepares articles from knowledge of topic and editorial position of website, supplemented by additional study and research.
      • Optimizes websites for search engines.
      • Tracks website business.
      • Creates and posts blog entries and infographics for company web properties.
      • Maintains the social media accounts of the firm.
      • Produces ads and invitations suitable for print and online presentation.

      Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree required.
      • 1-2 years internet writing experience.
      • Know how to use browsers, search engines, directories.
      • Must be familiar with HTML; CSS and Java Script knowledge a plus.
      • Adobe Illustrator and or Photoshop for ad creation.
      • Adobe Acrobat document and form creation.
      • Previous background must include demonstrated knowledge of search Engine Optimization techniques and strategies.
