Prior to entering into the practice of law Timothy was employed as a merchant mariner, holding a licenses as a master of vessels less than 1600 gross tons upon oceans and second mate of unlimited tonnage upon oceans. Much of Timothy's work as a Mariner included the cleanup of oil spills, most notably including the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Spill in the Gulf of Mexico. In 2014, after a successful maritime career, Timothy decided to enter law school, where he was able to maintain standing among the top of his class with the support and assistance of his wife, Melissa, and two young children, Magdalynn and Jude.
