Traveling American Crown Circus Returns for Rotary Club Fundraiser
The American Crown Circus and Circo Osorio returns to Marin County for Memorial Day weekend. Comprised of acrobats, juggling acts, airborne stunts and clowns, the bilingual circus is entertainment for the entire family. The event is a major fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise, which has brought a traveling circus to northern Marin every year since 1997.
The Rotary Club fundraiser takes place on Memorial Day Weekend, starting Friday, May 22 through Sunday May 24, at the St. Vincent’s Grounds in San Rafael. Circus show times are:
- Friday, 5/22 at 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, 5/23 at 2:00, 4:30 and 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, 5/24 at 2:00, 4:30 and 7:00 p.m.
To find the St. Vincent’s Grounds from Highway 101, take the Marinwood/St Vincent’s Drive exit just south of the Highway 37 exit. Travel east after you exit. Advance tickets are $12 for adults and include two free children’s (12 and under) tickets per adult ticket. Tickets can be purchased at Matt and Jeff’s Car Wash (Novato), or Bank of Marin’s Ignacio and Novato branches, or Quezada Markets in Novato and San Rafael. Tickets are $15 the day of the show. Supporting the Community Where We Live and Work

Besides sponsoring the Rotary Club event, Brayton Purcell and the firm’s employees contribute to many other local activities including: Bowl for Kids’ Sake (Big Brothers, Big Sisters), Relay for Life (American Cancer Society), Labor Day at the Lake (City of Novato) and the Marin Human Race.
Other non-local groups Brayton Purcell supports include: the American Cancer Society, the American Lung Association, the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization and the Novato Human Needs Center.
The Rotary Club’s Community Involvement
Funds from the performances support the Rotary Club’s many charitable and service activities. In Marin County, the organization has contributed to local schools to refurbish classrooms, install a garden, provide scholarships and aid children with special needs. It also helped purchase two vans for the Novato Youth Center and installed smoke alarms in Novato mobile homes at no cost to the residents.
