Partner Post: Target Recalls Childrens’ Sitting Stool

by Brayton Purcell LLP | Dec 3, 2013 | Consumer Safety

Target Issues Product Recall for Circo-brand Sitting Stools

Written by James P. Nevin

Retail giant Target has issued a recall on children’s sitting stools due to a fall hazard. The store is recalling nearly 69,000 Circo-brand Chloe & Connor Sitting Stools nationwide. The stools, which retail for around $15, have a stabilizing bar that is prone to cracking and can cause a child to fall on the floor.

So far at least 5 children have been injured. The injuries reported include bumps, bruises and cuts. Target urges consumers to stop using the stool immediately and return it to their nearest store for a full refund.

The recall involves a children’s sitting stool, sold as part of the Circo-brand Chloe & Conner Collection. When assembled, the stools measure 11 inches tall by 11 inches wide by 11 inches deep. The painted wood stools were sold in red, white, navy and pink. Item numbers 249200218 (red), 249200207 (white), 249200217 (navy), 249200208 (pink) are printed on a sticker on the underside of the stools. They were sold nationwide from April 2012 through June 2013.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission maintains a list of recalled products on their website at www.cpsc.gov. To report a dangerous product or a product-related injury you can go online to www.SaferProducts.gov or call CPSC’s Hotline at (800) 638-2772.
