Tomorrow, November 11th, is Veterans Day!

Look around you. Can you believe that veterans are all around us? They can be our parents, children, or our grandparents. They can also be our neighbors, classmates, or coworkers. Veterans are everywhere, and no one can deny their importance to our country.

Many people do not know that our veterans are among those most at risk for developing an asbestos-related disease due to exposure during their service. As Veterans Day 2014 approaches, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the seen and unseen dangers our soldiers have endured throughout the years.

Among our clients, Navy Veterans have been some of those most at risk for developing a disease like asbestosis or mesothelioma. You can read about some of the following victories on our website:

  • San Francisco Jury Awards $8,673,704 to Retired Navy Machinist and Engineering Officer
  • San Francisco Jury Awards $33.7 Million to Retired Navy Electrician

If you are a veteran, it is likely that you were exposed to asbestos during your time of service. While it is not the fault of any branch within the military, there are asbestos companies that knew of the dangers that their products posed to American soldiers.

Asbestos-related diseases can take years or decades to appear after exposure. If you have served within any branch of the United States military, be sure to alert your doctor to the possibility of a future asbestosis or mesothelioma diagnosis. There are other asbestos-related diseases that can develop within veterans, as well.

Contact Brayton Purcell  L.L.P. today if you are a military veteran diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease. We would be happy to schedule a free consultation to determine if you are eligible to file an asbestos claim.
