Full disbursement processing of the asbestos litigation settlements (reimbursement of costs advanced, payment of fees, referral fees, liens and settlement proceeds to clients). Create spreadsheets for the Probate Department for completion of motions and Summary of Settlements for clients. Complete Cost Breakdowns, Cost Revisions, File Reviews and prepare a packet for our Medicare lien liaison as needed. Maintain and balance client specific ITF (In Trust For) Accounts for approx. 200 clients. Correspond with FECA and DOLI regarding client liens. Answer client questions regarding settlement disbursement and/or status of funds. Follow-up with clients regarding uncashed checks.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job experience
Account analysis, auditing, familiar with reviewing contractual agreements helpful. Familiar with account reconciliations. Some form of accounts receivable and/or accounts payable experience a plus.
Position requires a detail oriented person with the ability to multitask. Able to evaluate and view the entire picture.
Excel experience a must.
Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager the Facilities assistant performs basic office building and grounds maintenance, repairs and inspections, ordering and stocking of supplies, courier deliveries to various location in the SF bay area.
Provides basic A/V support for trials and firm events, serves as a first responder for our in-house emergency response team, and administers the access system and security.
Good computer skills required, detailed oriented, customer service background a plus. Must have a valid CA driver’s license, a clean DMV record, and be insurable. Able to use basic construction tools. Knowledge of Marin, San Francisco and East Bay roadways is helpful.
Administrative Assistant WC
Provides administrative support to Workers’ Compensation Manager, supervisor and department paralegal’s. Fulfills defendant document service requests, and prepares correspondence and other documents as required.

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have minimum of 1 year office experience. Proficient use and understanding of computer software programs including WordPerfect, MS Excel, Word, and use of database applications.
Ability to handle high volume of work and multitask.
Should possess strong organizational skills, and strong communication skills
Review case information to place record order requests.
Place medical, billing and employment record orders.
Follow up with facilities via phone, fax and/or email for employment, medical/billing records, pathology and film requests. Update notes of follow ups in evidentiary Docs.
Prepare various form letters, subpoenas and check and copy service requests.
Performs a variety of clerical tasks including basic word processing, copying, faxing, and data entry.
Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
Minimum 6 months related experience, legal office or legal-related work in a professional environment preferred. Excellent communication skills. Accurate typing speed of 40 WPM, WordPerfect, PDF’s, Excel, Word and data base experience preferred.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize workload to consistently meet deadlines.
Ability to communicate in a professional manner with BP staff and attorneys and with staff from outside facilities while maintaining confidentiality of firm matters.
Attention to detail and ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high pressure environment. Ability to problem solve with initiative to take the next steps.
