stethoscope on a tableAs of January 1, 2024, there are important changes to the free Medi-Cal Health Insurance Coverage program.  Anyone who is age 26 to 49, even if you have undocumented status, qualifies for free Medi-Cal health insurance coverage if your income is less than $20,121 a year for an individual, $27,214 for a family of 2 people, $34,307 for family of 3, $41,400 for a family of 4, $48,494 for a family of 5, or $55,587 for a family of 6.  Your assets such as bank accounts, cash, property, or vehicles are no longer considered.  Therefore, if you are no longer able to work full-time due to silicosis, you will likely qualify for free Medi-Cal Healthcare Coverage.  You can apply for Medi-Cal coverage at: https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/medi-cal/pages/applyformedi-cal.aspx
